Craft Activity: Painted Pine Cones

My little charges and I chose to paint the Pine Cones we brought back home with us from our City Outing the other day. We grabbed a muffin tray to section off the many coloured paints we wanted and set out different paintbrushes for some sensory and fine motor skill opportunities. One at a time each of my little charges picked up a paintbrush with their favourite coloured paint on it and away they sloshed, splattered and splashed their pine cones. I tied a piece of string around the top stick and hung them up to dry.

To add a little spice to the mix:

Sprinkle some glitter or confetti onto the pine cone while the paint is still wet. For further instructions check out my blog post: Glittered Pine Cones.

What are you going to PAINT today?
